Hey! Marcus from Ommersheim Fitness and Weight Loss Center here.
If you haven’t heard of us, you’re probably wondering what the heck an “Ommershein” is, does, or means.
I get that a lot.
It actually doesn’t do anything. It’s actually a place. A town, actually. In Germany, believe it or not, near the border with France.
Why name our fitness business after a town in Germany?
Well, my other originated from the area, and always speaks fondly of the place. Plus, it sounds cool and is a great conversation starter; no one has a clue what it means… other than it’s related to fitness and health, of course.
What We Do Here!
It’s pretty simple, really… we help you get fit, lose weight.
The difference is that we help you feel good doing it. We’re not “The Biggest Loser.” We don’t scream at you, humiliate you, or push you until you’re half-dead. Our service is effective, supportive and most importantly…
We take the time to learn about you and the things going on in your life, for example, since these can often have a huge impact on weight loss.
We deliver what we promise, and we do it with genuine care and concern. Our plan basically comes down to three things, all covered in the initial consultation…
Our plan has a great focus on food planning, diet and meal preparation than exericise (see why below), but we still incorporate an exercise plan – not for the weight loss effects, but for the other cardiovascular and health benefits that arise from it, and to inspire you to be more active in your daily life.
See our article, “6 Insane Benefits of Exericise” for more.
While many weight loss pros will tell you that your success comes down to the time you spend in the gym, that’s actually far from the truth. In fact, studies show that you shouldn’t exercise to lose weight period (check out this great article from Vox which draws from 60 scientific studies to explain why!).
Of course, exercise is important for a number of other reasons, which why it is included in our plans!
What your success comes down to moreso is what you eat, your portion sizes, meal planning and meal preparation.
You could, for instance, spend 20 minutes killing yourself on a stairclimber to burn 120 or 130 calories.
Or, you could eat one piece of toast with your breakfast instead of two.
While exercise is great for you, the problem is that it doesn’t burn calories very efficiently, which means it’s much easier to reduce your calorie intake through dieting, rather than killing yourself at the gym.

We do recommend some specialized supplements.
We’re big fan of protein powder supplements; the convenience, taste and nutritional value they offer makes them something that should be in the cupboard of every avid dieter.

We do get asked quite a lot about over the counter diet pills and weight loss supplements. We don’t normally talk about these or recommend them. If you must research them, we recommended the fat burner reviews over at UltimateFatBurner.com – they’re straight forward and honest.
